Pitatayo is me! That's how I pronounced my first and last name when I was really little and learning to talk. This blog is about me, my life, my experiences and other things I want to write about.

This blog has moved. Please visit me at Patricia's Place!

Bird Nest

Bird Nest
Originally uploaded by Patricia102696.
This bird built her nest right in front of the main entrance at Crusade headquarters. And the weird thing is that she's right next to the sidewalk where people and cars go by all the time. She had been laying on her eggs for a few days. Yesterday Rob told me that her and the eggs were gone. So sad. We think another animal got them.

My Younger Twin

Me and Karin

Today was Karin's first day in the office after taking three weeks off. And can you believe we were dressed the same!? This isn't the first time it's happened either.

Rob's Annual Shopping Trip

Rob and I spent a good portion of the day at the mall. He really dislikes shopping, especially if it's for him. So it typically takes me about a year to convince him that he needs some new clothes. And it's not a fun process. But today's trip to the mall was really good. I think it's because I warned him ahead of time that we would be there awhile...and I told him to bring a book to read while I was getting what I needed. Let me just tell you that we got some major deals for his clothes because a store was having a buy one get one free sale on shorts and shirts. Then he found a really good pair of shoes that were a little pricey, but when we went to buy them they ended up being half off! Woo hoo!

Recovering The Chair

My mom was in town this weekend and she helped me recover our La-Z-Boy recliner. I didn't realize how gross it was until we started recovering it! We've had it for about 8 years. Anyway, it turned out much better that I ever imagined! If my mom hadn't helped me I never would have gotten it done. Thanks Mama!

How The Book Got Here

I got a cookbook this week from a sweet lady, Jo, who lives in Pittsburgh, PA, and is a member of my dad's church.
  • On Sunday night Jo gave my dad the book to give to me. But I had just left Papa's house on Sunday afternoon and he wasn't going to see me until Christmas.
  • On Sunday night he drove to the DC area for my cousin's graduation and gave the book to my younger sister whom he stayed with.
  • On Tuesday afternoon my younger sister gave the book to my mom - at the airport. They were both flying out from Dulles at the same time so Anita found my mom in the terminal.
  • On Tuesday night I saw my mom and she handed me the book.

My family will do anything to not have to spend money on mailing stuff. I love it! My mom is going to Puerto Rico in July to visit her mom, sister and brother. She's going to take the birthday present I got for my aunt when she goes so I don't have to mail it to her!

Dinner Guests

Alissa and Graham, her boyfriend, came over for dinner tonight. Alissa is the daughter of the family we stayed with in Canada. She's involved with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) here. It was fun!

Google's Logo Today

Check out Rob's blog about today's Google logo. You know how they change the logo for special days? Well, we've been to the "E".

It's Over

Okay, so my procrastination didn't last very long - just about 5 minutes. I actually got a lot of stuff done today. Then I went home and mowed the lawn, planted a few flowers, and made dinner. Not a bad day.

Procrastinating

That's what I'm doing right now. I'm not motivated to work today. Don't know why but don't worry, it won't last long. Because I know if I don't get stuff done today then I'll be super stressed tomorrow. I think I need a week at the beach. A week at the beach in Puerto Rico sounds really good right now. Actually, a week at any beach would be nice!

I think I'll go have lunch now and get back to work.

Visiting Papa

Papa Me Rob
This is my dad. We call him Papa, which is Spanish for dad. We had a good time in Pittsburgh visiting him. I realized I'm more like him than I thought. That's a good thing.

Flying Home

Flying into Orlando International Airport is never dull.

Highlights of today's flight into Orlando:
  • a 2 year old boy being carried by his dad sobbing and yelling at the top of his lungs: "NO AIRPLANE! GET ME OUT! NO AIRPLANE"
  • as the screaming boy passed, a father in the row in front of us tried to cheer him up with, "You're on the right plane, Mickey Mouse is in the back of the plane."
  • it didn't help

Falling Water

Falling Water House
Originally uploaded by Patricia102696.
Rob and I are in Pittsburgh this weekend visiting my father. Yesterday we went to Falling Water, a house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. It was really neat but we noticed the house was built for short people. The ceilings were really low.

No Keys

Well, I locked myself out of the house. Again. But I must say that it's been at least a year since I've done that.

I hung out in the car while Rob conveniently decided (after I called him) to come home early from the office. It's been one of those spacey kind of days for me.

Monday Night Movie

I watched The Prince and Me last night.
